There are many beautiful views of the
Chicago skyline, but how many can you enjoy feeling as comfortable as
in your own back yard, eating food that rivals any of the city's top
restaurants in the company of great people? This is the Columbia Yacht Club and for years now, I've had the privilege and the honor of
documenting some very special events happening in this truly magical
place.
One of the more recent occasions was
the Commodore's Reception. Despite the fact that Chicago has yet to
see a decent summer day, the weather gods were on our side. That
combined with the amazing entertainment by Chicago's own Paris Swing Band, a world class menu by the hard working kitchen of the Columbia Yacht Club and glorious desserts by Vanille Patisserie – a good
time was had by all!!! On a side note, can I just mention that the
“Royal” dessert was SO amazing, I tracked that baby down the next
week and surprised my husband with it for his birthday!
